Toolmaster’s History

The Toolmaster Hawaii legacy began in San Francisco in 1972 when original owners Ken and Marta Reichert opened up their first full service rental shop. Moving to Kauai in 1980, they opened up in Kapahi in 1980 while they built a brand new warehouse in Lihue Industrial Phase 2.

After moving into their new location at 3061 Aukele St in January of 1982 Toolmaster continued to build a reputation for knowledgeable staff and hard to find equipment for the clientele of Kauai.

Toolmaster is legendary on the Island for it’s support of the local community by providing assistance during the rebuild after Hurricane Iwa and Iniki in 1982 and 1992 respectively.

In 2022 Ken and Marta chose to pass on their business to new owners and resident entrepreneurs Kristal Muhich, Dylan Scott and Jacquelyn Grant. After taking some time to appreciate and distribute Toolmaster’s astounding inventory, new owners began remodeling a new location to move Toolmaster into a more sustainable position on the Island.

New owners plan to honor the long standing history of Toolmaster Hawaii by maintaining the same level of service and expertise while offering more diverse products and services to the Island of Kauai.

Toolmaster remains the best stop for generators, solar power, truck racks and a full service station for tool service and repair.
